Klaviyo Hack: Optimise your plan in 5 minutes!
Are You Paying More Than You Should?
As a marketer, you're always on the hunt for ways to optimize your campaigns and make the most of your budget. But have you ever considered whether you're on the best Klaviyo pricing plan for your needs?
In today's competitive landscape, it's crucial to keep costs in check, and you might be surprised to learn that you can save up to 40% on your Klaviyo subscription without impacting your revenue.
While Klaviyo's pricing plans are based on the number of active subscribers, they actually hinge on the number of emails you send. Many eCommerce companies end up paying more because they assume pricing is solely tied to active subscriber counts. This quick five-minute evaluation will help you ensure that your plan aligns perfectly with your business needs—and save you money!

Step 1: Check Your Current Plan
Navigate to your Klaviyo Account > Billing, and review your current plan and the number of email sends it allows.
Step 2: Go to Metrics
Head over to Analytics > Metrics and search for the metric "Received Email."
Step 3: Review Received Email Metric
Click on "Received Email" to open its page.
Step 4: Adjust the Date Range
Change the date range to the last three months.
Step 5: Set the Frequency
Adjust the frequency to "monthly."
Step 6: Note Down the Number of Emails Sent
Take note of how many emails you've sent each month over the last three months.
If the number of actual emails sent monthly is significantly lower than your current plan’s limits, there's an opportunity to downgrade and save.
For instance, if your plan allows 450k emails per month but you're sending only 210k emails monthly, you could downgrade to a plan costing $375-400 and save about $250 every month!
Key Insight: Profile Count and Campaign Strategy
One important point to remember is that your plan’s profile count is the maximum number of people you can email in a single campaign.
For example, if you have 50k active profiles but are on a plan for 25k profiles, you can segment your subscribers into two lists of 25k each and send two separate campaigns.
This is not just a workaround—it’s an excellent opportunity to segment your audience and deliver more personalized, impactful messages rather than sending the same campaign to everyone.
Regular Review for Continued Savings
I recommend reviewing your Klaviyo pricing plan regularly, as the number of emails sent can vary over time. Monitoring this metric quarterly can help ensure you’re always on the most cost-effective plan for your needs, avoiding unnecessary expenses.
Keep an eye on your email sends, and adjust your plan accordingly to save significantly in the long run.
